Hello there, mischief-makers!

Over the past few months, most of my efforts have gone into building things: the website, Patreon, content schedules, archives, quick references, tokens, and all the countless little pieces that nobody notices when they work — but everyone notices when they don't.

Whenever I think I finally have the time to tackle stuff, something comes in between. That doesn’t mean I have been idling! No, no, no! I focused the little time on the little things. And at least I can say now that I uploaded the remaining missing monsters and ensured that all VTT tokens are now properly working. I also fixed the glaring mistakes in the newsletter outro…. (*internal screaming* Why did nobody of you tell me?)

One of the biggest items on that list is continuing the rollout of Quick References for all monsters. It's something I've wanted to provide for a long time, so no more excuses! Let’s get it done until the next newsletter!

Behind the scenes, I'm also continuing work on commissions I am getting, as well as a few future projects. One of those projects recently underwent a significant overhaul as we refined exactly what we wanted it to become. It's still far too early to share details, but it's slowly evolving from a rough idea into something I'm genuinely excited about. And as always you will be the first to get know more details once it is time! Maybe even the first access for some beta testing.

But enough about future plans — let's get to this month's mischief. 🎲

More Than Loot Turn Treasure Into Adventure Hooks

Treasure doesn’t have to just sit in a bag of holding. Sometimes, it’s more than gold - it’s the key to new adventures. What if this time you aren’t getting stuff from a treasure chest, but the „chest“ itself is the loot waiting to be filled?

The artificer’s crafting box is no ordinary magical item. With it, your players can create the magic they’ve always dreamed of - but only if they’re willing to hunt down the ingredients.

The box serves as a tool to set them off on new adventures or reward them for diligently collecting materials on their journeys before. The player can decide what they want for themselves, or the box could already have been set to create something they only find out once they actually feed the box all the ingredients.

This isn’t just loot - it’s a quest generator in a cube. Where do you find mithril? Who guards the rare heartstone flower? How would you even get an angel’s tear? What price will the party pay for the legendary weapon they desire most?

A New Tool for Homebrew Lovers

This month, I'd like to highlight a project from a fellow creator that has recently gone live.

Imagine if the DMsGuild focused specifically on ready-to-use game content: monsters, magic items, spells, and similar creations; while also functioning as a searchable library designed to help Dungeon Masters quickly find exactly what they need for their games.

That's the goal of this new platform. It brings together a curated selection of creators and their work in one place, while providing tools that make browsing, organizing, and using that content at the table much easier.

Whether you're looking for inspiration, a specific creature for tonight's session, a tool to quickly improvise loot or encounter, or simply enjoy discovering new creators, it's definitely worth taking a look.

With Patreon live, the Discord is also becoming more lively. Come join us!

mischief is here.

This newsletter hopefully provides you with some creative ideas that bring joy and memorable sessions to your table.
